Blog

Well, I'm back.  Please be patient while I figure out how to start this blog.  I started it a year ago, and never kept it up.  Now I plan on blogging at least once a month.  Who knows, maybe more often then that. Do you want to know why Gwen's Blends was started?  Gwen's Blends was created out of a need and desire for a healthier lifestyle for myself and 2 daughters.  I was good at buying the right foods to eat, but I never thought about the products I was using on myself or children.  I never thought about the damaging chemicals I was putting into our bodies.  Did you know that your skin is your largest organ? Well, when you use soap, lotion, hair products, etc., if you are not using natural products, most likely you are putting chemicals, alcohol, and parabens in your body.  Your skin actually absorbs some of these chemicals into your bloodstream.  That is unacceptable.  That is why in 2009, Gwen's Blends was launched, natural, handmade, healthy, skin care, hair care, bath & beauty, and pet care products.  We pride ourselves in using food grade ingredients (oatmeal, cinnamon, olive oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, aloe vera, shea butter, etc) and natural preservatives(citric acid, potassium sorbate) in order to make HEALTHY BLENDS

The first product made was Caramel Oatmeal Soap.  My daughters and I used it, friends and family used it.  We were all amazed at the difference between store bought soap (with chemicals in it), and natural soap. What a difference.

Before I tell you the difference between the 2 soaps, let me tell you where the nane came from.  Caramel is the color of the soap, and it has oatmeal in it.  As for the difference, the Gwen's Blends Caramel Oatmeal Soap, exfoliates, moisturizes, helps with skin problems such as eczema, great lather, fresh scent, no chemicals, parabens or alcohol, cleans, helps get rid of spots on skin, and many other benefits.

The Caramel Oatmeal Soap is made of extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, shea butter, and oatmeal.  It is unscented, except for the natural scents of the ingredients.

That's it for now.  Please email any comments you may have.
